In July, our friends Liz and Dominick joined forces to bring in an incredible array of experts in how we can help provide more sensory-friendly programming to our community. We were excited to chat with friends from the Rose Theater, Omaha Children's Museum, and Autism Society of Nebraska.
This is still an area many of us are trying to navigate to allow our events to be more welcoming to our friends that are sensory sensitive, which is wildly different for each person. Remembering to stay person-focused is something we can all work to strengthen, and we can keep thinking through experiences and how we can create guides to share in advance to navigate places that may cause some anxiety when visiting. The kits the Children's Museum have created are incredible and something we are each excited to create our own customized version of!
Thank you to Liz, Dominick, the Rose, the Omaha Children's Museum, and the Autism Society of Nebraska for sharing their morning with us and helping us explore!
