Anne Alston from the Nebraska Arts Council put together a wonderful day to talk about Nebraska's Fine Arts Standards! They have been around for about 4 years, so for some ODECA members this was an update as previously we only lived on the national standards diet.
With experts from schools, the Rose, and even a few founding writers, it was wonderful to dig in to how they were chosen and adopted, how best to use them, showcasing them on grants, and what is next (spoiler: they will be touched up in about 3 years).
We are lucky to be able to impact students in varying formats and locations, and it would be helpful when strategizing content and fundraising to showcase how these standards apply and are met whether we are stepping into a classroom, going to a theater, or meeting outside after school.
